Deepali Gupta

Deepali is a Halifax based multidisciplinary artist whose abstract work is rooted in deep emotional exploration and an evolving creative process. Her mixed media pieces combine painting, collage, crayons, acrylics, and natural materials to create richly textured compositions where color takes center stage. For as long as she can remember, color has fascinated her — not just for its beauty, but for its power to communicate emotion, contrast, and quietude without words.

Abstraction, to her, is mysterious and full of dimension. She is captivated by the way colors relate to one another, how they shift meaning depending on their surroundings, and how, sometimes, color itself becomes the subject of a piece. Her process is intuitive and ever-changing — she welcomes experimentation and sees mistakes not as setbacks, but as openings to new ideas.
